Amps to kW Calculator – DC, AC Single Phase & Three Phase
Easily convert amps (A) to kilowatts (kW) for DC, AC single phase, and AC three phase circuits. Enter the current in amps, voltage, and (for AC) the power factor to get the power in kilowatts instantly.
        Amps to kW Formula

            - DC: P (kW) = I (A) × V (V) ÷ 1000

            - AC Single Phase: P (kW) = PF × I (A) × V (V) ÷ 1000

            - AC Three Phase (Line-to-Line): P (kW) = √3 × PF × I (A) × V (V) ÷ 1000

        Example Calculations

            - DC: 10A, 230V → 10 × 230 ÷ 1000 = 2.3kW

            - AC 1-Phase: 5A, 230V, PF 0.8 → 0.8 × 5 × 230 ÷ 1000 = 0.92kW

            - AC 3-Phase: 20A, 400V, PF 0.9 → 1.732 × 0.9 × 20 × 400 ÷ 1000 = 12.470kW

        Typical Power Factor Values

            | Device | Typical PF |

                | Resistive load | 1 |
                | Fluorescent lamp | 0.95 |
                | Induction motor (full load) | 0.85 |
                | Induction motor (no load) | 0.35 |
                | Synchronous motor | 0.9 |
